Photographs

The following sections contain a range of photographs captured by Jeff Ball and Gary Hughes in their portrayal of AFPU cameramen either at Living History shows or more commonly attached to units as part of a commemorative march or more recently accompanying Monty's Men Living Hstory group on one its many trips to France.

In each instance the pictures that you see were taken with either one of our many trusty Super Ikonta 532/16's or a "liberated" Leica III.

Furthermore, each of the pictures have not been "doctored" in any way using software, other than cropping and adjustments to contrast etc.

The period feel of the photographs are a testiment to the dedication and quality of the units that we have had the pleasure of working with over the years and in particular Monty's Men.

In working with these groups we perform very much as the original AFPU camermen would have done, shooting things as they occur rather than getting the guys to pose etc. The images we capture are very much as they happen be it on patrol, moving across country or going about routine duties.

Ultimately we hope that they capture the feel of the some of those original AFPU pictures; whilst also showcasing the quality of living history units such as Monty's Men
